Every year, AIRAH’s National Awards showcase the achievements, technical excellence and emerging talent in the HVAC&R industry. Entries are now open for 2026.

The AIRAH National Awards recognise leadership in project design and delivery, ground-breaking research, outstanding professional contributions and the up-and-coming future leaders in the HVAC&R sector. Entries are evaluated by a panel of experts, before winners are announced at the annual gala dinner on Thursday, November 26 in Melbourne.
“The awards celebrate innovation, research, technical excellence and contributions to the broader industry, showcasing the contribution HVAC&R professionals at all career stages make to society,” says AIRAH CEO, Sami Zheng, Affil.AIRAH.
Nominations are now open across six categories:
- Excellence in HVAC – Best New project Awards
- Excellence in HVAC – Best Retrofit Project Award
- Excellence in Refrigeration Award
- Industry Advancement and Inclusion Award
- Future Leader (VET or Higher Education) Award
- Student of the Year (VET or Higher Education) Award.
Prizes for each category include a chance to showcase the winners’ people and skills to the broader industry in AIRAH publications or events.
For example, the Best New Project has the opportunity for inclusion in a future site tour, the Best Retrofit will score a curated innovation showcase at the flagship Future of HVAC conference exhibition space, and Excellence in Refrigeration receives complimentary registration and an exhibiting booth at RefCon27.
For Future Leader and Student of the Year winners, the prizes include support for professional development.
