New appointments to ARC board

Andrew Ambrose from Refrigerants Australia has been made a Director and has also been appointed Chairperson. The ARC says Ambrose brings substantial strategic and governance leadership experience to the role. 

Mark Rowe from VASA, representing the automotive air conditioning and cooling sector, has also been appointed as a Director and will serve as Deputy Chairperson.

Three other new Directors have been appointed, bringing a diverse blend of global business leadership, technical expertise and deep roots in the HVAC&R stationary and automotive sectors. To ensure balanced representation, half of the director positions are responsible for the stationary sector and half are responsible for the automotive sector.  

The other newly appointed Directors on the board are Michael Hamilton from the Australian Mechanical Contractors Association, Paul Campbell from Refrigerant Reclaim Australia, and CEO of AIRAH, Sami Zheng Affil.AIRAH.  

Nigel Muller from VACC will continue his service on the board, providing continuity during the transition. The outgoing directors include Chair Greg Picker (Refrigerants Australia); Kylie Farrelley (RRA); Ian Stangroome (VASA); Dain Venning (National Electrical Contractors Association); and Scott Williams (AMCA). 

ARC CEO Mark Lamb says he is very grateful for the contributions of the previous board members over the past year.

“Much work was done to align our strategic focus, and there is significant work ahead to continue the governance of the ARCtick scheme. 

“I welcome all our new board members and look forward to building on the incredible amount of work currently underway.” 

Zheng says she is honoured to represent AIRAH and its members. 

“The ARC plays an important role in supporting a safe, skilled and sustainable refrigeration and air conditioning industry in Australia,” she says.  

“I look forward to contributing to the ARC’s work, supporting the team and working alongside fellow Board members to strengthen our industry and deliver positive outcomes for the people we serve.”
