Airflow for the win in hot spaces

Taiwan-based company, SUNON, has released a range of ceiling fans and ultra-mobile industrial fans specifically designed for large spaces. According to SUNON, its “bionic” HVLS (High-Volume Low-Speed) ceiling fan range generates broad, turbulence-free airflow at low speeds, and features seven curved, aircraft-grade aluminium blades with an aerodynamic profile.

Conventional fans generally rely on high rotation speeds to achieve airflow and cooling.

The company’s in-house developed BLDC motor contributes to the fans achieving over 90% motor efficiency with a maintenance-free, gearless direct-drive design.

“Users can experience a 5–8°C perceived temperature drop in summer, while a reverse mode in winter redistributes warm ceiling air for year-round energy savings,” the company says.

The industrial sector including factories and warehouses is a key market, as the company says hot and stuffy factory floors can make work uncomfortable and reduce productivity. It also aims to provide technology to large exhibition spaces.

The company’s new portable industrial fans won a 2026 Tiawan Excellence Award. Built around a hexagonal honeycomb frame, the units have a BLDC motor, IP55 waterproofing and stand around two metres tall. Being mounted on heavy duty casters means they can be easily repositioned for cooling at events, sports facilities or production lines.
