The International Solar Energy Society (ISES) is hosting a free webinar on how to use facades to generate solar energy.
The webinar is part of the International Energy Agency Solar Heating and Cooling (IEA SHC) program Solar Academy 2019 series. It will look at the work of Task 56: Building-integrated solar envelope systems (BISES) for HVAC and lighting.
Task 56 focuses on the critical analysis, simulation, laboratory test and onsite monitoring of envelope systems entailing elements that use or control incident solar energy and aim to deliver renewable thermal or electric energy to building HVAC systems, or that aim to reduce heating and cooling loads, while controlling daylight.
Three experts will speak during the 90-minute webinar:
- Roberto Fedrizzi: Assessment of BISES – Critical review and lessons learned
- Fabian Ochs: Detailed performance assessment of BISES by means of numerical simulation.
- Martin Hauer: Combined thermal and lighting simulation of envelope systems through a fast pre-design software
The webinar will be moderated by Bärbel Epp, founder and managing director of the German consultancy Solrico for solar market research and international communication.
Attendees will be able to submit their questions to the speakers for a 30-minute Q&A session at the end.
The webinar will be held from 12 midnight to 1.30am (AEST) on Thursday, September 19. A recording will be made available online afterwards and the webinar presentations will be made available on both the IEA SHC and the ISES websites.
