Clivet opens heat pump plant in Italy

The new production facility is 14,000m² and represents a total investment of €24 million (approximately AU $38.9 million). The site is dedicated to the large-scale production of heat pumps, and will be able to produce 8,800 units per year when running at full capacity.

Clivet says the plant has a particular focus on applications in the commercial sector and the use of natural refrigerants. The facility is equipped with advanced energy-efficient technologies, such as a photovoltaic system comprising 1,008 panels with a total capacity of 805 kilowatt-peak (kWp). This will cover 67% of energy consumption, with an estimated self-consumption rate of 87%; meaning that surplus energy will also be fed into the electricity grid.

Clivet has applied for LEED Silver certification for the facility, which has been designed in accordance with the principles of Lean Manufacturing. The production lines are assembling the SHEEN series (30–60–90kW), THUNDER (R290), STORM, SHEEN 130kW and Modular HP ranges.
