Retrofit and EnerPHit Month
The Australian Passivhaus Association (APA) is running a national “Retrofit and EnerPHit Month” campaign until mid-June, with a range of events on the agenda.

According to the Australian Housing and Urban Research Institute, 2024, it’s estimated that by 2050 “there will be seven million Australian homes that don’t meet NCC energy efficiency standards … which are still low by international standards”.
The APA says 70% of modern homes were built before modern standards existed, and carry an average rating of just 1.8 NatHERS stars.
In response to this, the organisation is hosting RetroPHit Month to turn the retrofit conversation into action. The goal is help accelerate awareness, capability, and market confidence around high-performance retrofits.
The events will showcase case studies, lessons, insights, and opportunities for Passivhaus EnerPHit in Australia.
