Refrigerant Reclaim Australia (RRA) and Nous Group have thanked the industry for contributing to the independent RRA Product Stewardship Scheme Review and outlined the next steps in the process.

RRA General Manager, Kylie Farrelley, says the review has been informed by the time, expertise and practical insights shared by stakeholders throughout the consultation process.

Contributions have been received from industry, government and the broader environmental management sector.

“We also acknowledge those who participated in the stakeholder survey. We recognise the demands already placed on our industry and value stakeholders’ willingness to share their experiences and provide feedback to the review process,” Farrelley says.

The survey received 860 responses, and the feedback and survey comments are playing an important role in the process, giving insight into industry experiences and practical realities, and operational challenges for scheme users and stakeholders.

Farrelley notes the responses also help identify emerging opportunities facing refrigerant stewardship in Australia.

“Combined with stakeholder interviews, consultations, research, and analysis, these insights have helped inform consideration of how the scheme can continue to evolve to support practical, effective, and environmentally responsible outcomes in the future,” she says.

“The willingness of stakeholders to engage openly and constructively throughout the review demonstrates a strong industry-wide commitment to supporting the long-term success of refrigerant stewardship in Australia.”

Further updates on the review process and the next steps for refrigerant stewardship will be released in the coming months.
