HVAC filter market booms
Market research and business intelligence firm MarketsandMarkets has predicted the HVAC filter market will grow from AU$6.6 billion to AU$8.8 billion over the next five years.

The forecast represents a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 5.9% during the period of 2026–2031.
According to MarketsandMarkets, drivers of the forecasted growth are increased demand for better indoor air quality (IAQ), stringent air quality regulations, and the expansion of the construction sector.
As awareness around IAQ and energy efficiency grows, so too will demand for HVAC filters for asset types including commercial buildings, data centres, hospitals, manufacturing facilities, educational institutions, and also for the residential sector.
The report stresses the public’s greater understanding of the adverse health affects of airborne contaminants will play a key role. Growth in the market is also being driven by the greater adoption of green building practices.
“Improvements in filter technology, energy-efficient filter designs, and innovative HVAC systems are helping to enhance filtration efficacy and minimise costs,” states the report.
Another key takeaway is that Asia Pacific has dominated the HVAC filters market, with a share of 37% (in terms of value) in 2025.
While the building and construction segment held the largest share (39%) of the global market in 2025, the food and beverage industry is expected to be the fastest-growing end-use segment in the coming years.
