Powering Skills Organisation (PSO) – the Jobs and Skills Council responsible for maintaining the air conditioning and refrigeration training package – has launched its 2025 Energy Workforce and Skills Survey.
According to PSO, the survey provides a chance to identify the key challenges, barriers, risks and opportunities related to building the skilled energy workforce required for Australia to reach net zero.
The insights captured by the survey will inform PSO’s 2025 Energy Sector Workforce Plan and help shape the activities, priorities and projects that PSO undertakes (including PSO’s VET Workforce Blueprint Project).
The survey has varied question streams to cater to:
- Employers, supervisors and workers (including employer representative roles like HR and leadership) in the energy sector
- Educators, trainers, assessors or training support members for energy sector workers
- Students, apprentices or trainees in an energy sector qualification
- Supporters of energy sector workers and/or businesses (including unions, industry associations, peak bodies, government and research organisations).
“We encourage you to fill in the survey and to share the survey link with any colleagues and energy sector contacts who might like to participate,” says PSO.
“Please also consider sharing it with anyone who may have left the industry as we would also like to hear about their experiences.”
