The Australian Building Codes Board (ABCB) has extended consultation on stage 1 of National Construction Code (NCC) 2022 public comment draft until 11.59pm (AEST) July 11, 2021.
“The ABCB is cognisant of the ongoing impact on industry of COVID-19, and the flow-on effect of the various lockdowns experienced in many jurisdictions,” says an ABCB statement. “The decision to extend the public comment period for stage 1 has been made in light of the current situation in many states, which coincides with the original closing date of July 2.”
Consultation on NCC 2022 is being facilitated via two separate consultation stages. Stage 1 seeks comment on all proposed NCC amendments except energy efficiency and condensation proposals.
Stage 2 of the public comment draft, which seeks comment on proposed content relating to energy efficiency and condensation project work, will open mid-to-late August (date to be confirmed). Stakeholders can register to receive updates about the consultation here.
Comments on stage 1 of the public comment draft can be submitted through the ABCB’s online Consultation Hub.
