NCC 2019 Preview release

The NCC (National Construction Code) 2019 Preview has been released. Versions of all three volumes and the guide to volume one are now available to download as PDFs.

The NCC sets the minimum acceptable standards for all new construction work in Australia. Since 2005, it has included provisions in Section J for energy efficiency, including many relevant to HVAC equipment in new commercial buildings. NCC 2019 will be adopted from May 1.

As reported previously, major changes are on the way, specifically to requirements for energy efficiency and condensation management.

The NCC 2019 online version will be released in early March with enhanced navigation and new features. The ABCB’s (Australian Building Codes Board) digitisation project is focused on improving and enhancing NCC access and understanding through new and refreshed technologies.
