Beijer Ref appoints new CEO
Jonas Steen has been appointed to the role of CEO, succeeding acting CEO and President, Joel Davidsson.

Steen is currently Chief Operations Officer of the global company’s EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) business area, and prior to that held the roles of COO for APAC, and VP for Nordic region and Eastern Europe. He will take the reins on November 1, 2026, and Davidsson will remain onboard as the global Chief Financial Officer.
“I am honoured to take on the role of CEO and president of Beijer Ref. Through my years with the Group, I have gained a deep understanding of the HVAC-R industry, our business, our customers and the opportunities ahead,” Steen says.
“My ambition is to further enhance our offering, strengthen our customer relationships and lay the foundation for long-term profitable growth.”
Chair of the Beijer Ref Board, Per Bertland says Steen brings extensive experience and a “deep understanding” of the business to the CEO role.
“His ability to combine strategic vision with a clear commercial focus and engaging leadership provides a strong foundation for further strengthening the company’s position and driving long-term, profitable growth,” Bertland says.
“I would also like to express the Board’s appreciation to Joel for his valuable contributions and strong leadership during his tenure as acting CEO.”
There will be a transition period of Steen continuing to serve as COO EMEA, alongside his new role as CEO, while the recruitment process for a new COO is initiated.
