William Bahnfleth will present an AIRAH Streamline session on integrating IAQ and energy-efficient buildings on June 8 at 12.30pm (AEST).

As awareness increases about the need for better indoor air, and as we strive to reduce energy consumption in buildings, one of the biggest challenges is how to achieve both goals at the same time.

The webinar will explore:

  • The significance of indoor air quality in terms of its impact on health and productivity and associated costs
  • The inseparable linkage between indoor air quality and building energy demands, including examples of efficient technologies for maintaining good indoor air quality
  • The need for an approach to building research, design, and operation that recognises this connect.

William Bahnfleth is Professor of Architectural Engineering at Pennsylvania State University. He is also the ASHRAE Presidential Fellow and committee chair for the recently developed Standard 241P – Control of Infectious Aerosols.
