New CEO for Construction Skills QLD

Diamond will succeed outgoing CEO Geoff Clare, who has led the organisation over the past three years.

CSQ Chair Sue-Ann Fresneda says Diamond will bring extensive leadership experience and a strong commitment to supporting workforce development, industry productivity and skills investment across Queensland’s construction sector.

Diamond’s track record includes most recently holding the role of Deputy Chief Executive and Company Secretary at the Australian Resources & Energy Employer Association (AREEA).

CSQ plays a critical role in supporting Queensland’s construction workforce, and the appointment comes at a significant time for the organisation and the industry.

“Queensland’s construction industry is experiencing unprecedented demand, driven by population growth, major infrastructure projects and preparations for the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games,” says Fresneda.

“One of the most important responsibilities facing our new CEO will be leading the delivery of CSQ’s record $83.5 million Training Plan, the largest annual investment in workforce development in the organisation’s history.

“This investment will support thousands of workers, apprentices, trainees and employers across Queensland, helping to build the skilled workforce needed to meet the state’s future construction demands.”

Diamond will commence her new role in early November.
