Midea presents latest tech at MCE 2026
Midea Building Technologies (MBT) unveiled a suite of new HVAC&R solutions at MCE 2026 (Mostra Convegno Expocomfort) including data center cooling, VRF systems, heat pump applications, and integrated building management.

The company debuted its V9 VRF system, which the company says has been designed to meet rigorous industry and environmental standards. The system is built on two core technologies: the new ShieldBox II electric control box and a reliable R32 refrigerant solution.

ShieldBox II features an automotive‑grade one‑piece die‑cast aluminum housing. According to Midea, this reduces volume by 70% to accommodate a larger heat exchanger and increase outdoor unit efficiency. The system has passed TÜV’s three-tier protection safety assessment for flammable refrigerant VRF systems, and is equipped with R32 refrigerant.
MBT also showcased its liquid cooling solutions to address data centre cooling demands. The system integrates Coolant Distribution Units (CDUs), fan walls, and magnetic bearing centrifugal chillers to achieve an annual Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) as low as 1.2.
Multiple MBT products also received MCE Excellence Awards 2026, including the Mars Large R290 ATW Commercial Heat Pump and the M thermal Arctic S4 R454C Split Heat Pump.
