The NSW government is collecting feedback from female construction workers to improve working conditions in the industry.

Only 13 per cent of the construction industry in New South Wales is made up of women, and a recent survey showed 12 per cent of respondents identify as women within the industry nationally.

The survey aims to understand how gender influences people’s experiences and views on working in the industry, with a view to creating a more diverse and inclusive workforce.

It follows the NSW government’s investment of over $20 million earlier this year to attract more women into the construction industry, hoping to see women in 15 per cent of trade and non-traditional roles by 2030.

The survey takes approximately 10–15 minutes to complete, and can be accessed here.
