Researchers at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) are investigating “typical journeys” of homeowners who are undertaking renovations, appliance upgrades and electrification as part of a RACE for 2030 Energy Upgrades for Australian Homes project. They are keen to connect with a small number of homeowners and learn from their experiences.
The research team is requesting assistance from industry professionals in reaching homeowners by sharing a survey link with clients who have undertaken additions and alterations or some form of home renovation or appliance upgrade. This is to invite them to complete a brief (3–5 minute) survey to share information about their experience, and also to identify people who would be willing to undertake a 45–60 minute online interview.
One of the goals of the project is to build a better understanding of householders’ experiences when they seek to increase the energy efficiency of their homes. The researchers will be creating journey maps to illustrate the research findings, which may be published in reports or journals.
The research will be undertaken by Jaime Comber ([email protected]), Ed Langham and Kerryn Wilmot, Affil.AIRAH, from the UTS Institute of Sustainable Futures and Leena Thomas, Nimish Biloria, Alexandra Woods, Kamyar Soleimani and Nastaran Abdollahzadeh from the Faculty of Design, Architecture and Building at UTS.
