The Australian Institute of Refrigeration, Air Conditioning and Heating (AIRAH) has released all eight units in its Professional Certificate in HVAC&R Fundamentals.
The online program explores technical knowledge and skills in heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration. It consists of eight units, with detailed information about the workings of HVAC&R equipment and principles.
Brendan Pejkovic, AIRAH’s professional development manager, says the course took 18 months to develop.
“The Certificate can build on existing industry experience, or is suitable for recent industry entrants,” he says.
The program is modular and can be adapted to participants’ specific interests. People can opt to complete all eight units to receive the Professional Certificate in HVAC&R Fundamentals, or they may choose to complete individual units. Of the available units, four are in Air System Fundamentals and four in Water System Fundamentals.
Each unit involves approximately five to eight hours of online activity.
AIRAH’s Chief Executive Officer Tony Gleeson says AIRAH continues to be the leading education provider in the HVAC&R sector.
“There are few courses available that focus solely on HVAC&R,” he says. “We aim to fill that gap.”
Pejkovic adds that AIRAH continues to develop its online education offerings to ensure industry personnel across Australia have access to professional development opportunities.
