The International Well Building Institute (IWBI) is hosting a series of free webcasts on responding to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).

These sessions are based on webcasts hosted by the IWBI’s China team said to have reached as many as 110,000 attendees at a time.

Touching on subjects ranging from remote work ergonomics to air quality management, the webinars are focused on presenting practical and actionable strategies from the IWBI’s experts and leading minds from around the globe.

The first webcast on March 26, titled “IWBI’s Global Community Response to the Novel Coronavirus”, provided insights from the IWBI’s global outposts, including its team in China, on navigating the coronavirus.

The second webcast held on April 3, “The New Normal: Working from Home”, shared health experts’ take on best work-from-home practices and how to take care of their own health.

Wrapping up the series this Thursday (April 9) is “Places matter to foster resilience”. Online attendees will be learning about strategies within the WELL Building Standard to help prepare organisation for and address public health challenges – not just now, but for the long term. Two sessions of the webinar will be available: 10am and 8pm.

Viewers who missed the live webcasts can still catch recorded versions of the webinars.

The free webinars are part of the IWBI’s continuing efforts to organise a concerted response to the coronavirus pandemic. The overarching theme is “Places matter: prevention and preparedness, resilience and recovery”.

The efforts also include the setting up of a special task force on coronavirus, coming up with new guidelines for “prevention and preparedness, resilience and recovery”, as well as making enhancements to the WELL Building Standard.

The IWBI is also reaching out to experts and authoritative personnel in the areas of building design and operations; organisational policies and practices; air quality; hygiene; or other relevant topics. Besides encouraging them to share evidence-based best practices with their companies and communities, the IWBI also invites their input and collaboration via the task force.

The IWBI delivers the WELL Building Standard, a global rating system focusing exclusively on the ways that buildings, and everything in them, can improve our comfort and enhance our health and wellness.
