The National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) and the Australian Gender Equality Council (AGEC) have partnered with the University of Queensland to understand how COVID-19 is impacting men’s and women’s careers.

The research project, which takes the form of an online survey, aims to explore how people’s home and work lives have been altered during the pandemic. It also seeks to understand the issues and challenges faced throughout this period.

Reports are beginning to emerge that women appear to be shouldering a greater share of household duties during the pandemic. With entire households being forced into lockdown in recent months, preliminary research has found that women have been spending more time on chores and with their children than men.

This survey seeks to find out more about how men and women have been dividing their responsibilities. The results will be stored in a secure environment at the University of Queensland. It is estimated the survey takes about 10 minutes to complete. It is available here.
