Camfil releases IAQ film with WHO and the BBC
Camfil has released a new short film about indoor air quality in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO) and BBC StoryWorks Commercial Productions.

The short film, which runs for nearly six minutes, is part of the Healthier Together content series, which is presented by the WHO Foundation. BBC StoryWorks Commercial Productions – the commercial content division of BBC Studios – produced the film for Camfil.
With a runtime of nearly six minutes, the film focuses on the hidden but significant impact of airborne particles in indoor environments, and the crucial role buildings play in protecting occupant health and wellbeing. It highlights the fact that, according to the WHO, only 1% of the world’s population breathes acceptable air, with traffic and industrial pollution being major contributors to the problem.
And while we often focus on the state of the air outside, the film points out that activities such as cooking, heating, cleaning, and normal building use can generate microscopic particles that remain suspended in indoor air, potentially making it more polluted than outdoor ambient air. It also explains the physiology of how this air pollution can create long-term health effects, including cardiovascular disease, lung cancer, and asthma.

The film then goes on to introduce and explain some of the technical solutions that can help provide safe indoor air.
“When indoor air quality is properly understood and managed, buildings become healthier places to live, work, learn, and receive care,” says Camfil VP Product & Innovation Anders Sundvik, who speaks in the film. “We work with the air you don’t see.”
You can watch the short film for free on the Camfil website.
