AIRAH members receive free CO2 training

MHIAA and STC have collaborated to provide a one-day CO2 refrigeration training course free of charge to AIRAH members.

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Air-Conditioners Australia (MHIAA) and Superior Training Centre (STC) have collaborated to provide a one-day CO2 refrigeration training course free of charge to AIRAH members.

The course was held at MHIAA’s Sydney head office on February 28, with 30 HVAC&R professionals in attendance. It consisted of the UEERA0006 Apply Safety Awareness module, hands-on sessions, familiarisation with air-to-water heat pumps, and training in the legal requirements of CO2 refrigeration.

“The training program exceeded all expectations, and we were able to deliver this program to more participants than we initially expected within our training facilities,” says MHIAA Managing Director Yuji Ito.

“We look forward to many more opportunities to develop these training programs in partnership with Superior Training Centre and providing the HVAC&R market with leading education programs to meet the ever-changing needs and demands within the market.”

Attendees received a certificate for completing the nationally recognised course.

AIRAH Education and Technical Services Manager Brendan Pejkovic says the course was valuable to AIRAH members, giving them the chance to upskill in the emerging field of sustainable refrigeration.

“AIRAH would like to thank STC and MHIAA for providing the opportunity for AIRAH members to attend this nationally recognised training program,” Pejkovic says. “These courses provide a great opportunity for industry to increase their knowledge around the safety and legal requirements for alterative refrigerants.”

All participants completed the course and received a statement of attainment. The nationally recognised unit of competence counts towards continuing professional development requirements.
