NABERS is holding a webinar to preview its Renewable Energy Indicator (REI) on Thursday, May 11.
The REI is a new indicator displaying the proportion of renewable energy that a rated building is running on. Both onsite renewable energy generation and offsite renewable energy purchases are recognised.
Expected to be launched in the first half of 2023, the REI will be a mandatory part of a NABERS Energy rating for all building types. It will be included and displayed on the NABERS certificate for free with every NABERS Energy rating.
The webinar will address the next stage of NABERS, and provide a high-level preview of what the new REI component of NABERS will mean for facilities, buildings and investors.
The webinar is an opportunity to find out more about the new development, how it will help participants to reduce emissions, and how it will help reach Australia’s net-zero targets.
A range of expert speakers from the industry and NABERS will discuss:
- What the REI is
- How the REI was developed
- What the REI means for NABERS users
- Benefits for the building industry
- What the future looks like.
