Workshop: lowering heating hot water temperatures in electrification retrofits
One of the major technical considerations for building owners and facilities managers relating to electrification retrofits is the performance of electric heat pump systems compared to traditional gas boilers.

Upcoming commercial building electrification workshops in Sydney and Melbourne presented by the Alliance for Energy Productivity (AE2P) aim to build the necessary understanding of swapping gas boilers for heat pumps, and demonstrate feasibility through real-world examples.
The core of the four-hour sessions will be how to lower heating hot water temperatures in commercial buildings to significantly reduce the capital expenditure (capex) and operational expenditure (opex) associated with switching technologies.
The sessions will be led by building electrification experts Michael Snow, Project Director from Turner and Townsend, and Julian Sutherland, Head of Sustainable Assets (APAC) from Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL). The presentations will also be supported by A2EP Commercial Program Director Peter Haenke and A2EP CEO Jarrod Leak.
Presentations will focus on practical implementation, risk management and real-world outcomes. Participants will also get a site tour of a property that has undergone an electrification retrofit.
