The Australian Alliance for Energy Productivity (A2EP) is hosting a tour of commercial and industrial renewable heating installations in Sydney, New South Wales, on Thursday, October 12.

Hosted by A2EP CEO Jarrod Leak, the bus tour will explore how heat pumps are being used to efficiently supply heating and cooling services for a range of applications – including commercial applications. The tour will visit sites such as:

  • 52 World Square, Sydney (pictured) – An existing commercial office building that has been refurbished for a higher NABERS rating. It has been recently updated to include an end-of-trip facility consisting of 28 EOT showers and 11 basins with a peak load of 2,866L of hot water.
  • Cabarita Swimming Centre, Concord – The Cabarita Swimming Centre’s electrification project was commissioned in March 2023, and the outdoor pool reopened for swimming on September 1. The new heat pump controls the water temperature.
  • Tooheys Brewery, Lidcombe – Tooheys Brewery is a large energy user that is currently using some renewables for brewing, packaging and utilities. It is on a path to electrification and the tour will showcase a large-scale business in the process of transition.

Lunch and other refreshments will be provided, and the tour offers a networking opportunity with end-users, suppliers, government and consultants in attendance. It costs $390 (+GST) per person for A2EP members, and $690 (+GST) for non-members.
