The Clean Air Society of Australia and New Zealand (CASANZ) is accepting abstracts for the 2025 Clean Indoor Air for ALL Conference, which will take place in Melbourne from 13–15 October, 2025.

Indoor air quality (IAQ) is a fundamental determinant of human health, safety, and well-being, yet the challenges in this space today are more complex than ever. From the impacts of climate change and extreme weather events to the lessons learned from the COVID-19 pandemic, the urgency to advance IAQ research, policy, and practice has never been greater.

CASANZ first held an IAQ conference in 1994, in collaboration with the International Society of Indoor Air Quality and Climate (ISIAQ). Chaired by Distinguished Professor Lidia Morawska, that inaugural event established a key consensus: comprehensive solutions can only be achieved through integrated approaches at all levels of research, investigation, and practice.

CASANZ says the 2025 conference will return to this mission: bringing together global experts to examine the state of IAQ, drive evidence-based decision-making, and shape the future of indoor air management. The event will feature more than 50 speakers from Australia and internationally, as well as keynote sessions, panels, and networking events.

State of play

CASANZ will launch the State of Indoor Air Quality Report on the first day of the conference, with Prof Morawska then leading a full-day discussion on the report.

The long-awaited report will outline the status quo of IAQ in public buildings, with key findings, health impacts, case studies, and recommendations to improve air quality. CASANZ will host interactive sessions and panel discussions with keynote speeches from prominent members of the community.
