Mitsubishi Electric has launched the PUMY-SP, a single-fan air conditioning unit that it says offers the all the benefits of a variable refrigerant flow (VRF) system in the company’s smallest ever City Multi chassis.
Known as mini-VRF, these systems are designed to provide multi-room heating or cooling for projects under 20kW and to offer better efficiency, flexibility and controllability when compared to multiple split systems installed for the same application.
“In today’s property developments where noise, location and building design aesthetics pose a challenge, the new PUMY-SP with its reduced height (less than a metre), is a highly attractive option,” says Mitsubishi Electric.
“Developers can mix and match different indoor units from the Mitsubishi Electric M Series, Mr Slim and City Multi VRF range, including stylish new wall-mounted units, to provide complete design flexibility. The reduced height of unit means it will blend into its surroundings and in particular balcony installations.”
According to Mitsubishi Electric, the Quiet Mode feature reduces the noise level of the outdoor unit by up to 10dB(A). The optional part PAC-SC36NA-E is required to activate the feature, and although capacity reduction differs by mode setting, it is designed to allow the unit to operate at night in residential areas.
The PUMY-SP series is compatible with the suite of controllers from Mitsubishi Electric, including seven-day controllers, touchscreen controllers (which can be branded with the logo of the property), centralised controllers, wireless remote controllers, and wi-fi control.
