Mark Romage retires after 33 years at Hydrochem
From starting on the tools with Hydrochem in Victoria in 1992, through to heading up the Western Australian operation since 2009, in the past 33 years Mark Romage Affil.AIRAH has made his mark on the business.

Romage is closing the book on his career at Hydrochem, having been at the helm in the west since venturing across the Nullabor from Melbourne in 2009.
Perth is a far cry from Melbourne’s gritty western suburbs where Mark grew up and graduated from Footscray High School. He joined Hydrochem as a service technician in 1992, and according to company sources, he enjoyed his time on the tools. It is something he believes is an important step for those aspiring to future leadership roles within the company.
“His practical knowledge and expertise in cooling water systems large and small has helped many Hydrochem customers over the years,” the source says. “The ability to communicate complex technical concepts in simple, easy to understand terms is very important and something Mark excels at.”
Now the plan is to swap the desk for a holiday home at Dunsborough and start ticking off a list of travel destinations.
The new Western Region Manager will be Russell Nunan, who has been with Hydrochem for eight years and has the necessary breadth of experience in commercial and industrial water treatment.
In a final comment that will warm the hearts of all West Australians, Romage quipped that the highlight of his 33-year career was moving to Perth. His allegiance to his beloved Richmond Tigers, however, is perpetually unwavering!
