Submissions for the Stewardship for Consumer and Other Electrical and Electronic Products discussion paper are closing on Friday, February 25.
According to the Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment, the e-waste generated each year by Australians has more than doubled in the past 10 years.
The department held discussions from August to November last year to discuss the management of electrical and electronic products throughout their life – including refrigeration and air conditioning equipment. The discussion paper covers strategic plans to reuse and recycle these electrical products.
Stewardship for Consumer and Other Electrical and Electronic Products addresses how to meet the targets agreed in the National Waste Policy Action Plan, and how to develop product stewardship arrangements for electrical products not already covered by the National Television and Computer Recycling Scheme.
The paper is available to download here.
Feedback from industry is invited until 5pm on Friday, February 25. For more information, please click here.
