Women's Leadership Development

Up to $7,000 of scholarship funding is currently available for women working in the technician services sector, supporting participation in a range of leadership development courses.

Funding is provisioned across three key management levels, with expressions of interest closing on March 22.

Women & Leadership Australia (WLA) says interest is already strong for this important developmental initiative for the technician services sector.

The three programs include:

  • The Advanced Leadership Program – a high-impact and challenging developmental experience for female leaders, running over 12 months. Experienced senior and executive leaders/managers are eligible to apply for a $7,000 partial scholarship.
  • The Executive Ready Program – a seven month leadership and career accelerator designed to stretch mid-level leaders and propel them towards executive level performance. Mid-level leaders and managers are eligible to apply for a $4,000 partial scholarship.
  • The Leading Edge Program – designed to enable the transition of aspiring and early career female managers into confident, capable and motivated leaders, delivered part-time over five months. Early career managers and team leaders are eligible to apply for a $3,000 partial scholarship.

Tammy Carolan, Rockhampton branch manager at Complete Air Supply, says it’s an awesome opportunity for women interested in getting into the HVAC&R industry. She registered for the Women’s Leadership Forum last year and believes it would be great to see more women trying to break into the male-dominated industry.

The WLA was founded in 2004. It is dedicated to developing female leaders and supporting the increased presence of women in business and community leadership roles through initiatives like 100 Days for Change.
