NABERS has introduced a rating progress metric – a one-decimal place indication of where a rating sits between a whole or half-star value, allowing more granular tracking over time.

The metric will be displayed on:

  • The review summary screen in NABERS Perform
  • Energy and water rating reports
  • The Rating Register CSV file that is downloadable from the NABERS website.

The rating progress metric is available for all energy and water ratings lodged and certified in NABERS Perform.

This means that the rating progress metric will not be available for ratings lodged in NABERS Members (such as office co-assess ratings) or the NABERS for Apartment Buildings tool. Once these tools are transitioned to NABERS Perform, the rating progress metric for co-assess and apartment building ratings will be available.

Those who require a rating progress metric for either of these rating types before the transition to NABERS Perform can contact [email protected]

NABERS notes that the rating progress metric is not intended to replace the star rating. Rather, it is a granular indicator that can be used for progress tracking.

According to NABERS, by the end of 2024, all online calculators will include the rating progress metric.
