Kirby launches Apprentice Fund

Kirby has announced the formation of the Kirby Apprentice Fund, established to support apprentices and strengthen the technical skills of the HVAC&R industry.

The company plans to begin raising funds using a variety methods. The funds will then be used to provide trade tools and skills development training to industry apprentices.

The fund will be launched on World Refrigeration Day (WRD) on June 26. All supporters will have the opportunity to purchase a Kirby T-shirt for $10 from a Kirby branch, and all profits will go to the Kirby Apprentice Fund. The trade T-shirts will reflect the fund’s purpose with the slogan “strengthening our trade”.

Kirby account customers will also have the opportunity to contribute a voluntary refrigerant levy to the fund, which will be fully invested back into the industry for the provision of tools and training.

The fund and fund-raising programs will continue and expand into the future. All HVAC&R trade apprentices are encouraged to register their details.
