IWBI launches two new WELL ratings
The International WELL Building Institute (IWBI) has expanded its WELL program with two new ratings.

According to the IWBI, the WELL Real Estate Rating and the WELL Operations Rating will help real estate companies implement and scale health strategies across their entire portfolios.
The WELL Real Estate Rating focuses on enhancing base building infrastructure, while the WELL Operations Rating focuses on addressing base building operations and maintenance. The IWBI says they cover factors like ventilation, water quality and design elements that encourage movement and mindfulness, helping real estate agents and building owners/managers measure and validate the health strategies most critical to base building performance.
According to the IWBI, the WELL standard now aligns with 41% of the globally recognised 2025 GRESB Real Estate Assessment, meaning aligning with WELL can speed up the pathway to GRESB accreditation.
“Through rigorous science and verified performance, we’ve proven that buildings and organizations can be a powerful force for human health,” IWBI President and CEO Rachel Hodgdon says. “By achieving these ratings, real estate leaders have new opportunities to earn recognition at scale, establishing immediate trust with tenants and investors while building toward broader organizational goals.”
Both of the new ratings are now open for enrolment.
