The Australian Institute of Refrigeration, Air Conditioning and Heating (AIRAH) has suspended the Refrigeration 2020 Conference, scheduled for March 23–24 in Melbourne, due to concerns around the spread of COVID-19.
“In this time of great upheaval for everyone, we ask for your patience as we work with attendees, speakers, sponsors and other stakeholders to reorganise,” says AIRAH CEO Tony Gleeson, M.AIRAH.
“We will announce a new date for Refrigeration 2020 as soon as possible. Conference registrations will be valid for this rescheduled date, so please watch for news in the coming weeks.”
AIRAH is also suspending all events until May 31.
Given the continuing need for social distancing, AIRAH is focusing its efforts on increasing the availability of its digital resources.
“As disappointed as we are to not be able to host Refrigeration 2020 next week in Melbourne, AIRAH recognises our organisation’s responsibility to help ‘flatten the curve’ or diminish the chances of the COVID-19 spreading,” says Gleeson.
“In place of this, over the coming fortnight we will be sharing links to online presentations from some of our scheduled conference speakers.”
These will be available through the Refrigeration 2020 web page.
