Practical course on achieving net zero buildings

How can the built environment work towards achieving the 2050 targets for net zero buildings?

In collaboration with Monash University, the Green Building Council Australia (GCBA) has developed an online course to help answer that question.

The course, titled “Realising net zero buildings”, will discuss industry challenges in emissions reduction and how to tackle them with the 2050 goals in mind.

Industry experts will be sharing practical tools and essential steps needed to achieve net zero buildings, while offering an opportunity to answer your questions on the subject.  

Key themes include:

• What is the future of net zero, renewable-powered cities?
• Navigating the pathway to net zero Green Star buildings
• Features of award-winning, high-performance buildings
• Learning from successful, all-electric and grid-interactive projects
• Building net zero in practice.

The webinar will feature the following industry experts:

• Scott Ferraro – Program Director, Net Zero Initiative, Buildings and Property Division, Monash University
• Jorge Chapa – Head of Market Transformation, GBCA
• Johanna Trickett – Melbourne Sustainability Manager, Norman Disney & Young
• Peter Mathieson, F.AIRAH – Technical Director, Built Environment, Aurecon
• Jack Cahir – Design Manager, Kane Construction.

The session will be chaired by Manager, Engineering & Sustainability, Monash University, Rob Brimblecombe.

The event will be held on October 21, from 9am–1pm (NSW, Vic, ACT, Tas) | 8.30am–12.30pm (SA) | 8am–12pm (Qld) | 7.30–11.30am (NT) | 6–10am (WA).
