NABERS is holding a webinar about emission factors for its much-anticipated embodied carbon tool on Wednesday, August 30.
Australia currently has no consistent method of measurement for embodied emissions. NABERS has worked in partnership with the Green Building Council of Australia and collaborated with industry and governments across Australia to understand the appetite for a standard for embodied emissions and the role of NABERS in administering that standard.
“As we build the NABERS Embodied Carbon rating tool, we will need to define default emission factors, to use where no verified product-specific data is available,” says NABERS. “This is an invitation to the consultation process that will help us develop those default emission factors.”
During this session, NABERS and thinkstep-anz will present on the following topics:
- The emissions data methodology NABERS proposed in its public consultation paper, and the feedback it received
- How emission factors will be used in the rating tool
- The process NABERS will use to develop default emission factors
- How NABERS is inviting stakeholders to participate in this process.
“We invite everyone who’s interested to register to attend,” says NABERS.
Everyone who registers will receive access to a recording of the webinar, and an invitation to contribute to the ongoing process.
The webinar will be held from 1–2pm AEST, Wednesday, August 30.
