The Green Building Council Australia (GBCA) is holding an online air tightness masterclass on Tuesday, June 18.
During the session, four GBCA experts will discuss how to ensure success from the outset of a project. They will examine successful projects and real results across design, testing and performance.
The GBCA says air tightness is now a minimum expectation under Green Star Buildings in an effort to drive better building practices and performance outcomes.
The course will cover:
- Understanding the minimum expectations for air tightness in Green Star Buildings
- Navigating the submission documentation process
- The dos and donts of air-tightness testing and performance
- Understanding the value of early design review and steps to ensure success
- How to find construction solutions when you have an imperfect design
- Comparing air tightness results across projects that have considered it from the start, versus those addressing it down the track
- Considerations to get the key stakeholders engaged from the outset and implementing critical checkpoints along the way
- Promoting responsibility and accountability of the project teams to make informed decisions.
The speakers include:
- Sean Maxwell, AM.AIRAH, ATTMA Scheme Manager Australia and New Zealand
- Filomena Beshara, Sustainability Manager, Built
- Jason Gaekwad, Technical Director – Building Physics & Sustainability, Inhabit
