The Green Building Council Australia (GCBA) will be running an online course for those new to sustainability or who want to gain an understanding of the business benefits derived from using the Green Star rating tools.
The Green Star Foundations course is part of GBCA’s Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Program. It represents the first step to gaining the Green Star Associate (GSA) or Green Star Accredited Professional (GSAP) qualification.
Attendees will gain insights in the following areas:
- Benefits of embedding sustainability in the built environment
- Why choose Green Star?
- Breaking down the business case for sustainability
- Overview of the Green Star – Design & As Built, Green Star – Performance, and Green Star – Communities rating tools
The online course consists of two components. In the first component, attendees can complete 10 learning modules guided by a comprehensive workbook, in their own time ahead of the live session.
The second component is the interactive live session where participants can apply what they have learnt in the modules, learn from a leading Green Star project and participate in live discussions with the presenter.
GBCA’s Senior Manager in Market Engagement, Jamie Wallis, is presenting the online course. He has over 15 years’ experience driving sustainability in the built environment. He has worked closely with the property sector, business and government to design and deliver energy efficiency and sustainable design initiatives.
The event will be held on October 15, from 10am–12pm (NSW, Vic, Tas, ACT) | 9.30–11.30am (SA) | 8–10am (Qld) | 7.30–9.30am (NT) | 7–9am (WA)
On completion of this course, participants can attend any of GBCA’s Green Star Advanced courses – the second step toward gaining their GSA or GSAP qualification.
