The automotive air conditioning industry’s Wire & Gas 2024 trade show is taking place at The Westin Brisbane from August 23–25.

The Wire & Gas 2024 trade show, specialising in the automotive air conditioning, electrical, and thermal management sectors, is taking place at The Westin Brisbane from August 23–25.

The organisers say this year’s convention is set to deliver a wealth of knowledge, networking opportunities, and industry recognition. The event will feature expert speakers and trainers who will cover a wide array of topics – from hybrid and electric vehicles to air conditioning, electrical systems, common-rail diesel, and the latest industry regulations.

Notable speakers include:

  • Bob Ansett: Founder of Budget Rent A Car, known for his innovative customer service and marketing strategies.
  • Grant Hand: Founder of Automotive Training Solutions, delivering deep insights into vehicle climate control systems.
  • Kylie Farrelley: General Manager of Refrigerant Reclaim Australia, focusing on environmental protection and refrigerant emissions.
  • Jeff Smit: Co-founder of The Automotive Technician network, specialising in electric and hybrid vehicle technology.
  • Lesley Yates: Director of Government Relations and Advocacy for the Australian Automotive Aftermarket Association, addressing industry challenges through data.
  • Clinton Brett: Founder of Diesel Help Australia, offering expertise in common rail technology.
  • Rodney Cumming: General Manager, Compliance and Training at the Australian Refrigeration Council, discussing industry standards and compliance.
  • Geoff Mutton: Co-founder of The Automotive Technician network, sharing strategies for business profitability in automotive workshops.
  • Rodger Nardi: Executive Officer of the Australian Automotive Service & Repair Authority, explaining the “Service & Repair Information Sharing Scheme”.
  • Aaron Feast: Alientech Academy trainer, presenting on ECU/TCU cloning and re-flashing.
  • Oscar Vall: Infinitiev business development manager, discussing battery technologies for hybrid and electric vehicles.
  • John McCormack: Representative from Chemours Australia, providing an overview of the future of refrigerant technology.

Wire & Gas 2024 will also host a prestigious awards gala dinner to recognise excellence in the industry. The Gala Awards Dinner will feature the inaugural ARC Award for Refrigerant Management (mobile sector), the first REDARC Young Technician of the Year Award, and the new Grant Hand Industry Mentor Award. These awards will be presented alongside VASA’s longstanding Pioneer and Legend awards.

The trade show will also feature an incredible array of prizes for attendees, valued at over $10,000. Tickets cost $750 (+GST) for VASA members, and $950 (+GST) for non-members.
