ATMO Australia 2020 conference

Shecco is holding the ATMOsphere Australia 2020 conference as a virtual event on July 28, 2020.

ATMOsphere Australia 2020 is a one-day event about sustainable cooling solutions in refrigeration, heating, ventilation and air conditioning. The theme for this year is “Now is the time to make a cooler and more sustainable future together!”.

The conference will explore the solutions, technologies and capabilities that are available in Australia and New Zealand, and there will be a special focus on growing interest for healthcare solutions.

Event organisers say that ATMO conferences serve as a unique meeting point for all key stakeholders in the HVAC&R industry. They offer a chance to find the most energy-efficient and sustainable HVAC&R solutions through innovative technology presentations.

Keynote speakers include:

• Gene Blackley from Drawdown Australia
• Thomas Motmans, Sustainable Energy Finance Specialist for BASE (Basel Agency for Sustainable Energy)
• Toby Peters, Engineering and Physical Sciences Professor in Cold Economy at the University of Birmingham, U.K. 

The panel discussions include:

• Are We Ready for the Future?
  An all-female panel including Ura Sarfejoo, M.AIRAH, from Johnson Controls and AIRAH Board member, Jane Hadjion of Engineers Declare Australia, and Megan Dinsdale Jones from Patton NZ will share their perspectives on life, the environment, the industry and the future.
• Bringing Cooling, Climate and Energy Together
  Speakers will discuss the growing interest of integrating renewables (solar) in cooling solutions and energy efficiency.
• Insights From the Contractors
  Contractors will share their views about current trends, the challenges and opportunities with natural refrigerant solutions
• Solutions for the Food Cold Chain
  This panel will explore different solutions to improve the efficiency and reliability of refrigeration technology in the food cold chain.
• HVAC in Future Building Design: A Solution to Accelerate Net Zero?
  Heating and cooling represent as much as 40 per cent of energy use in buildings. Speakers Michael Li (ClimateWorks), Davina Rooney from the GBCA and Chris Buntine of Northrop Engineering Consulting will discuss how HVAC systems could help net zero buildings to become a reality.
• The HVAC Tech Revolution
  This panel will look at how the HVAC market is changing. Speakers will discuss different technologies available and the challenges to uptake and the transition to these technologies.
