Additional keynote announced for HVAC26

AIRAH has announced another keynote for the 2026 HVAC Innovation Conference, which will take place in Sydney from March 16–17.

Ramon Sa is the Senior Associate – Research at the Clean Energy Finance Corporation (CEFC). On day one of HVAC26, he will deliver a keynote presentation titled “Getting the balance right: data centre growth and the energy transition”, examining how rapid expansion in digital infrastructure is reshaping energy demand and what this means for HVAC&R.

The presentation builds on a recently published CEFC report that predicts exponential growth in energy and water use in Australian data centres over the coming decade. The report is the subject of a recent HVAC&R News feature in which we examined the implications this growth would have for the local HVAC&R industry.

Sa joins Joseph Lstiburek and Adrian Piani as keynote presenters at AIRAH’s flagship conference.

Piani was recently appointed CEO of the Australian Building Codes Board (ABCB) after nearly 30 years’ experience working in the built and natural environments. He will kick off the morning with a presentation on recent updates to the National Construction Code, which have been published in their preview form. The final version of NCC 2025 will be published on May 1, 2026.

Lstiburek is a world-renowned expert on a wide range of built environment topics including air barriers, vapour barriers, and vented and unvented roof assemblies. He will present on the complex interrelation between building physics and indoor air quality.
