The Industrial Ventilation Design Guidebook – Volume 1: Fundamentals (2nd Edition) is now available for order as an eBook or in hard copy. Fully revised and restructured, the guidebook presents the latest research and technology in ventilation for contaminant control and energy efficiency in buildings.
The two-volume publication develops a systematic approach to the engineering design of industrial ventilation systems. It provides engineers guidance on how to implement this state-of-the-art ventilation technology on a global basis.
Volume 1: Fundamentals features the latest research technology in the broad field of ventilation for contaminant control including extensive updates of the foundational chapters from the previous edition.
Experts from Asia, Europe and North America in the global industrial ventilation field have contributed to the new edition. It is intended to help consulting engineers working in the design of air pollution and sustainability for their industrial clients (processing and manufacturing). It was also written to assist mechanical, process and plant engineers looking for design methodologies and advice on sensors and control algorithms for specific industrial operations to meet challenging targets in the low-carbon economy.
The book is edited by Adjunct Professor at the Department of Chemical Engineering and Applied Chemistry, University of Toronto (Canada), Dr Howard D. Goodfellow; and Professor of HVAC Technology, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Aalto University (Finland), Risto Kosonen.
Dr Goodfellow has been responsible for specialised consulting and engineering design services for over 1,000 industrial and government clients in the environmental field. He is a recognised global leader in the area of research and development and the application of innovative engineering for clients in the industrial ventilation field.
Risto Kosonen is a professor in the area of HVAC technology with a focus on indoor climate, high-performing building services as well as energy efficiency in buildings. He is a REHVA Fellow, President of SCANVAC, and Chair of Indoor Climate Association in Finland. Author of over 320 international publications, Kosonen has received the REHVA Professional Award of Technology and SCANVAC’s Rydberg Gold Medal.
