Commission to reveal priority productivity reforms
Since last year, the Productivity Commission has been consulting and developing a response to Australia’s slowing productivity – now it is ready to release its interim reports.

The Productivity Commission has been tasked by the Australian Government to conduct five inquiries to identify priority reforms under their five pillar productivity growth agenda. The goal is to develop actionable recommendations that support governments in delivering meaningful and measurable reforms to boost productivity.
Late in 2024, the commission asked for productivity pitches – ideas from all sectors and stakeholders on how to achieve big wins. In June 2025, the commission called for more detailed submissions across five productivity pillars.
Growth mindset
The commission has now published a report that explores why reigniting productivity is essential to improving wellbeing and supporting strong, resilient and sustainable economic growth in an uncertain global environment. It previews the reforms proposed in the interim reports of the five productivity inquiries.
The report, Growth mindset: how to boost Australia’s productivity, is available at the Productivity Commission website.
