Daikin launches new Stylish Controller

Daikin Australia has launched a new Stylish Controller, compatible with its VRV and SkyAir systems.

Daikin says the new controller – measuring 85mm (H) x 85mm (W) x 25mm – was developed in response to increasing market demand for a simplified, convenient, modern looking and energy-efficient climate control solution in hotel and office buildings.

“Combining design innovation and energy-efficiency technology, Stylish Controller is an ideal option for building owners and facility managers looking to provide occupants with an attractive and user-friendly solution while optimising building efficiency and managing costs,” says the company.

Daikin national product manager Raj Singh, M.AIRAH, adds: “The new Stylish Controller introduces a unique concept, which allows users and installers new approach to air conditioning control and commissioning.”

Daikin says the Stylish Controller’s range of features and functions provide maximum flexibility in use and allow functions to be tailored according to the application.

“For example, the simple display allows hotel guests to easily control their comfort using the intuitive touch-button control, which provides direct access to a simplified list of functions such as on-off, fan speed, operation mode – cooling, heating, auto – and airflow direction, leading to increased customer satisfaction.”

An optional digital input adaptor for key card and window/door interlock is available in four models to suit various VRV and SkyAir indoor units.

“The Stylish Controller also features Bluetooth low energy, or BLE, connection of BLE 4.2 or higher for connection to the Daikin App for Installer, to enable easier commissioning, configuration and enhanced functionality,” says the company. “Not only do the simple visual interface and menus make system field settings fast and easy, but the Daikin App for Installer can also be used to configure the controller in advance, meaning less time required onsite.”

Other advanced user functions on the app include setback, set-point range limit and key/function lock (disabling buttons and functions on the controller).

It is available in gloss white and matte black.
