Dr Helen Tope and Michael Bennett have been recognised for their work in environmental protection and the HVAC&R industry.
Dr Tope was appointed as an Officer of the Order of Australia (AO) for her service to environmental protection, particularly of the ozone layer, through leadership, research and policy development. Dr Tope has worked on aerosols for many years, particularly metered dose inhalers (MDIs), and played a pivotal role on the Montreal Protocol’s Technology and Economic Assessment Panel (TEAP).
Bennett was declared a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) for his significant service to the refrigeration industry and the environment. He is the Chair of the Australian Refrigeration Council (ARC), was previously Chief Executive of Refrigerant Reclaim Australia, and has been heavily involved with the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC)
