Sustainability Victoria has revamped its business energy usage website to assist organisations with reducing energy costs and improving productivity.
Energy rates have been on the rise, but the Victorian government’s $6.1 million Boosting Business Productivity program has helped businesses save $2.33 million on their annual energy bills.
This was achieved by conducting energy reviews with more than 300 businesses to identify the top five energy cost-saving opportunities.
Although each sector is unique, the business energy usage website offers tips to reduce energy across different industries and on improving specific equipment efficiency.
The top tips for reducing energy include:
- Research what similar industry groups are doing
- Switch energy providers if needed
- Monitor your current use
- Get an energy audit to identify where you can be more productive
- Explore finance options if you need to upgrade equipment.
