Changing of the guard for AIRAH advertising
After nearly a decade with the Institute, AIRAH Advertising Executive John McGrath will retire at the end of 2025.

John started with AIRAH in February of 2016. He has worked on nearly 100 issues of both Ecolibrium and HVAC&R News, as well as 10 editions of AIRAH’s annual HVAC&R Search Compendium.
His leadership has guided the publications through the heightened challenge of the COVID-19 pandemic.

In the AIRAH office, John is known for his dry sense of humour, his love-hate relationship with the Carlton Football Club, and his tireless work to build and strengthen our relationships with our corporate partners.
“That’s it for me, after nearly nine years and nine months – but who’s counting!” John says.
“I’d like to extend a big thankyou to AIRAH’s board and management, as well as my colleagues for making this such a great place to work.
“To all our corporate sponsors and supporters, it’s been my pleasure to work with you on AIRAH’s publications for nearly a decade. Your email inboxes might be a bit lighter now that I’m retiring!”
Looking to the future
With John finishing up on December 11, Nicola Lister has joined the team as AIRAH’s new Partnerships Coordinator. Before starting with AIRAH, she was working in a similar role with Design Matters, a membership and representative body for building designers.
Nicola will look to bring a more holistic approach to AIRAH’s sponsorship offerings to ensure that participating companies and organisations get the best value for their investment.

“I’m looking forward to building upon the great relationships AIRAH already has with such a wide range of advertisers and corporate partners, while also extending our reach to new partners,” Nicola says.
“We’re looking to streamline our processes by offering packages that combine advertising, event and conference sponsorship, and our employer partner program to help businesses share their message in the most effective way possible.”
