Change of leadership at AMCA

The Air Conditioning and Mechanical Contractors’ Association of Australia (AMCA Australia) has announced a leadership transition, with Ben Hawkins appointed CEO.

After successfully guiding AMCA through one of the most significant periods in its history, Scott Williams has stepped down as the organisation’s CEO.

AMCA says that, during his tenure, Williams led the association through the challenges of COVID, oversaw the transition from a federation of state-based organisations into a unified national association, and assembled a capable team to drive the association into the future.

“Under Scott Williams’s leadership, AMCA has built strong foundations and positioned itself as a leading voice for the HVAC industry nationwide,” AMCA President Richard Drigo says.

“We thank him for his professionalism, dedication, and service to our members during a period of significant change and opportunity.”

The AMCA board has appointed Ben Hawkins as the association’s new CEO.

AMCA says that, having worked with AMCA for more than a decade across a range of roles and on issues impacting the HVAC and building services industries nationwide, Hawkins brings deep sector knowledge and strong relationships across industry, government, and education partners.

“It’s a privilege to take on this role and continue serving the HVAC industry, which contributes so much to the safety, comfort, and performance of Australia’s buildings,” Hawkins says.

“AMCA represents a strong and growing industry that plays a vital role in Australia’s built environment. I’m looking forward to working with our members, partners, and the board to strengthen our industry’s capability and influence, and to continue building AMCA’s position.”
