AIRAH will host two webinars in October to familiarise HVAC&R and building services professionals with the Institute’s Big Data Guideline.

AIRAH will host two webinars in October to familiarise HVAC&R and building services professionals with the Institute’s Big Data Guideline. These follow on from the initial webinar, which was held in August.

AIRAH’s Big Data and Analytics Special Technical Group released the first edition of the guideline in August 2024. The guideline aims to provide best practice protocols for HVAC&R and building services professionals working with big data applications.

Webinar part 2

Part 2 of the webinar series will take place on October 10. It will feature presentations from Evren Korular, M.AIRAH, Sean O’Shuaghnessy, Affil.AIRAH, and Sean Reed, Affil.AIRAH.

The session will cover:

  • What applications are generally available on the market?
  • How many of these applications are proprietary or interoperable?
  • Defining the data layer and use cases/value props – what should be considered?
  • Discussion on FDD
  • BI reposting/dashboarding
  • Advanced supervisory control

Webinar part 3

Part 3 of the webinar series will take place on October 31. It will feature presentations from Roshan Gill, M.AIRAH, Tristan Webber, Affil.AIRAH, and Sean Reed, Affil.AIRAH.

The session will cover:

  • What are the risks of this technology?
  • What type of measures should be implemented from a cyber perspective?
  • When should this guideline be used?
  • Examples of “big data” driving value in the Australian real estate sectors
  • How can we best advise industry in a manner that is impactful and creates an outcome?
  • Can this guideline be referenced in a spec?
  • What input should long term stakeholders of a build have throughout a construction process?

Registration

You can register for part 2 and part 3 of the webinar series via the AIRAH website. Attendance for each session is free for AIRAH members and costs $40 for non-members. Each session counts as 1 CPD point.
