Responding to complaints on defective building work

The Queensland Building and Construction Commission (QBCC) is holding a webinar on dispute resolution processes for defective building work complaints on Wednesday, October 25.

The webinar has been designed to complement six videos produced to give building contractors some quick and simple insights into the QBCC’s dispute resolution process for such complaints.

The video series provides a broad overview of disputes – from what causes disputes and how to avoid them, to understanding rights and responsibilities as a contractor in dispute, and the QBCC’s role in the ensuing process.

The six videos cover:

• What is a dispute?
• What causes a dispute?
• What can QBCC do?
• Complaint after the work is completed
• Assessment and facilitation
• Ignoring a complaint.

The webinar will be held from 4.30– 5.30pm on Wednesday, October 25.
